Item UTILIZATION OF TAIWANESE CLAM (Anadonta woodiana, Lea) AS BIOFILTER IN CULTURING SYSTEM OF SILAIS (Ompok hypopthalmus)(2012-10-16) Ramayani, FikaThe research was conducted from April until June 2012 at Aquaculture Technology Laboratory Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty of Riau University. The aim of the research was to improve water quality through the biofilter using taiwanese clam (Anadonta woodiana, Lea) on culturing system of silais to increase the growth and survival rate of silais (Ompok hypopthalmus). The method used was experimental method and RAL one factor with 3 level of treatments. The treatment with stocking density of 10, 15 and 20 taiwanese clam (Anadonta woodiana, Lea) respectively. The result indicated that different stocking density of taiwanese were have significantly effect on water quality (NH3), growth rate and survival rate of silais (Ompok hypopthalmus). The best result was achieved by 20 taiwanese clam (Anadonta woodiana, Lea). Total absolute body weight of silais was 9.53 grams, daily growth rate of 2,18 % and survival rate of 100%.Item THE EFFECT OF hCG INJECTION (HUMAN CHORIONIC GONADOTROPIN) AT DIFFERENT DOSAGE TOWARD OVULATION AND HATCHING RATE OF SNAKE SKIN GOURAMY (TRICHOGASTER PECTORALIS)(2012-10-16) Batubara, Lenni WahyuniThe research was conducted from July 2011 until January 2012 at Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty Riau University. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effect of hCG on ovulation and hatching of snake skin gouramy (Trichogaster pectoralis) fish. The hatching dosage of hCG treatment to induce ovulation were 1000 IU/kg,1250 IU/kg, 1500 IU/kg and 1 ml of NaCl 0.9 % as a control respectively, The best dosage of hCG treatment was obtained at dosage 1250 IU/kg of body weight which produced latency period of 4,24 hours, 2) number of ovulated egg 1081, Ovi Somatic Index 6,63%, eggs diameter increment 0,23 mm, fertilization rate 35,61%, Hatching rate 11,09% and survival rate 91,59 %. The temperature ranged from 27-290C and pH was 5.Item THE EFFECT OF OVAPRIM AND PROSTAGLANDIN (PGF2α) COMBINATION ON OVULATION AND EEG QUALITY OF KISSING GOURAMY (Helostoma temmincki C.V)(2012-10-16) Hardy, M. FikriThis research was done on July 11th until December 25th, 2011 in Fish Breeding Laboratory of Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty of Riau Ubiversity, Pekanbaru. Aim of the research was to know the influence of injection combination of ovaprim and prostaglandin for ovulation and eggs quality of kissing gouramy (Helostoma temmincki C.V). The method used was RAL with five treatments and three replications. The treatment were: P1= 50% Ovaprim + 50% PGF2 α (0,35 ml ovaprim + 1250 μg PGF2 α/kg body weight), P2 = 75% Ovaprim + 25% PGF2 α (0,3 ml ovaprim + 625 μg PGF2 α/kg body weight), P3 = 25% Ovaprim + 75% PGF2 α (0,18 ml ovaprim + 1875 μg PGF2 α/kg body weight), P4 = 100% Ovaprim (0,7 ml ovaprim/kg body weight), P5 = 100% μg PGF2 α (2500 μg PGF2 α/kg body weight). The fastest result of latent time was 6,33 (6 hour 20 minutes), amount of eggs ovulation 76,19 eggs/g, egg diameter additional 0,3 mm and egg maturity additional 10,67%.Item Growth and Survival Rate of Silais Fish (Ompok hypopthalmus) with Different Stocking Density Combining with Crayfish (Cherax albertisii)(2012-10-29) Nurhayati, UmiThe research was conducted from April to May 2012, at Aquaculture Technology Laboratory Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty of Riau University Pekanbaru. The purpose of this research was to investigate the growth and survival rate of silais fish (Ompok hypopthalmus) with different stocking density combining with crayfish (Cherax albertisii), to provide information of policulture activity of silais and crayfish in order to cultivate in limitid area. The silais fish used in this study was 180 fish with size of 5-6 cm and crayfish measuring about 4-5 cm by 45. Feed used in the form pellets 903 by feeding 3 times a day. The methods used in this study was an experimental method and RAL one factor with 3 level of treatments. Treatments of this study were P1 (15 silais and 5 crayfish), P2 (20 silais and 5 crayfish) and P3 (25 silais and 5 crayfish). The best result was achieved by P1 with stocking density of 15 silais and 5 crayfish. Total absolute body weight of silais was 11.73 grams, growth rate 8.13 cm, daily growth rate of 5.00 % and survival rate of 97.78 %. Whereas total absolute body weight of crayfish was of 1.89 gram, growth rate 1.11 grams, daily growth rate of 1.70 % and survival rate of 60 %.Item The effects of tyroxine hormone on the growth and survival rate of motan (Thynnicthys thynnoides Blkr)(2012-10-29) Putra, Sukendi; YurismanThis research aim, to understand the effect of tyroxine hormone on the grwth and survival rate of motan fish (Thynnichthys thynnoides Blkr). The experiment used four treatments as following : B1 = tyroxine hormone 2 mg/kg of fish diet, B2 = tyroxine hormone 4 mg/kg of fish diet, B3 = tyroxine hormone 6 mg/kg of fish diet and B4 = tyroxine hormone 0 mg/kg of fish diet. Fishes were reared for 4 months and they were fed on fish pellet, 3 times/day. Results show that the best results was treatment B3 = tyroxine hormone 6 mg/kg of fish diet with absolute growth weight 9,23 g, daily growth rate 0,6234 %, absolute growth length 2,63 cm and survival rate 73 %.Item Peran kajian kemampuan dan tingkah laku renang ikan baung (Hemibagrus sp) untuk teknologi penangkapan ikan dan usaha budidaya(2012-10-30) Nofrizal; Ahmad, MuchtarSwimming speed and endurance of baung (Hemibagrus sp)(FL = 16.13 ±1.14 cm) observed in swimming channel. Swimming speed has negative correlation to the endurance time. The endurance time was decreased when the swimming speed increased. Sustained swimming speed was less than 2.5 BL/s, corresponded to 40.3 cm/s and burst swimming speed was up to 10.5 BL/s, corresponded to 169.4 cm/s. Prolonged swimming speed was 2.5-10.5 BL/s (40.3-169.4 cm/s). Sustained swimming speed are recommended for fish-farming in aquaculture cage. Burst swimming speed was illustrated swimming speed of fish to escape and avoid the gear in capture process.Item Maintenance Juveniles of Freshwater Crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) Using Biofilter Kijing Taiwan (Anadonta woodiana, Lea) With System of Recirculation(2012-11-05) Fakhraini, YunidaThe purpose of the research is to improving the quality of water through biofilter by using kijing taiwan (Anadonta woodiana, Lea) on the maintenance of a lobster to increase the rate of growth and survival rate juvenil of freshwater crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus). This research was conducted from April to June 2012 in the Aquaculture Technology Laboratory Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty of Riau University.The method used was experiment, with 3 factors and 3 replications. The treatment with density 30, 50 and 70 juveniles/0,06 m3. The growth data were analysed using ANAVA. The best result of experiment showed on growth, absolute length growth, specific growth rate and survival rate were obtained in 50 juveniles/0,06 m3 3.05 g, 1.79 cm, 1.99% and 75.33%.Item SENSITIVITAS LARUTAN SIRIH MERAH (Piper crocatum) Terhadap Pertumbuhan Edwardsiella tarda(2012-11-13) Sustri, LositaThis research was conducted from October to November 2011 at the Laboratory of Fish Quarantine Station Class I airports Sutan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru and Parasites And Fish Disease Laboratory of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau. The aim of a research is to know the effect of red betel solution (Piper crocatum) concentration to the growth of Edwarsiella tarda and cat fish (Pangasius sutchi) survival. The method that had been used was experimental method with dose: P0; 0 g / l, P1, 3 g / l, P2, 5 g / l, P3, and 7 g / l. The results showed the concentration of red betel 7 g / l produce clear zone average 14.33 mm, a concentration of 5 g / l on average 12.6 mm while the concentration of 3 g / l and 0 g / l didn’t produce any clear zone at all. Between treatments P2 and P3 give significantly different results with the treatment P0 and P1 (P <0.05). The LD50 test using probit analysis obtained the best dose of 6.067 g / l.Item Utilization Of Rubber Seed Flour As Main Food Of Mystus nemurus(2012-12-05) Saputra,Arison AdeThe research was conducted in April until June 2012. The aim of the researchwas to determine the benefits of the provision of rubber seed flour as a substitute soybean meal of Mystus nemurus. The methods used in this study was an experimental method and RAL one factor with stocking density 5 treatments. The baung fish used in this research with size 3-5 cm in length and 1,32 - 1,33 g in weight. Concentration addition of rubber seed flour from soybean meal given is 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100%. The addition of rubber seed flour and other ingredients for the manufacture of fish feed is formulated to obtain the protein content of 30%. This study was conducted for 56 days to determine daily growth rate, feed efficiency, and survival of fish. The result is the replacement of the soybean meal with a rubber seed flour had its intended effect (P<0.05) in daily growth rate, feed efficiency, and retention of the protein but had no effect on fish survival (P> 0.05). The best result is to be found in the provision of 75% rubber seed flour yield 3.15% daily growth rate, feed efficiency of 34.09%, and 33.81% protein retention.Item EFFECT OF RUBBER SEED FERMETATION AS MAIN FOOD FOR BAUNG (Mystus nemurus) Fingerling(2012-12-05) Wajdy, FaridThe research was conducted for 56 days from April to June 2012. The aim of this research was to find out respons of baung (Mystus nemurus) fingerling on rubber seed fermentations. The methods used in this study was an experimental method and RAL one factor with stocking density 5 treatments. The baung fish used in this research with size 3-5 cm in length and 1,32 - 1,34 g in weight. Fish were reared in 1x1x1 m in cages with stocking density 20/m3. Feeding trials were replacing soybean meal with rubber seed fermentation applied to 25, 50, 75 and 100% for 30% food protein. Result showed that fermentation of rubber seed gave very significant effect (P<0,05) on growth, feed efficiency, and protein retentions. Replacement 75% of rubber seed fermentation is the best respons, produce the highest growth 2.98%, feed efficiency 33.45%, and 33.64% protein retention respectively.Item SENSITIVITAS TEMULAWAK (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb.) TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN Aeromonas hydrophila(2012-12-05) Evi Yani, MayaThe research was conducted in March 2012 in the Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases of Fish Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study to determine the concentration of turmeric (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Robx) that can inhibit the growth of Aeromonas hydropila and safe dose to be given to the fish. Sensitivity studies and LD50 test using completely randomized design 4 treatments and 3 replications. Concentration used in the assay sensitivity is P0: control, P1 (0.8 g / l), P2 (1.6 g / l), P3 (3.2 g / l), while the LD50 test using P0 concentrations: control, P1 (1 g / l), P2 (4 g / l), P3 (8 g / l). The results menunujukkan ginger solution to Aeromonas hydrophila sensitive average highest inhibition zone formed on treatment P3 (3.2 g / l) of 16.6 mm and significantly different between treatments (P <0.05). LD50 test solution for carp ginger marinated for 24 hours after probit analysis contained in the concentration of 3.7 g / l. ginger is safe to use for goldfish when administered at concentrations below 3.7 g / l.Item KETAHANAN NON-SPESIFIK IKAN MAS (Cyprinus carpio) YANG DIBERI LARUTAN TEMULAWAK (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb) TERHADAP Aeromonas hydrophila(2012-12-05) Dayanti, RaniThe study was conducted from February to March 2012 in the Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases of Fish Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of curcuma on non-specific resistance of carp (Cyprinus carpio) infected A. hydrophila (leukocytes, hematocrit, leukokrit, phagocytic activity and other types of leukocytes). This study used five treatments, 1) Kp: positive control (without giving a solution of curcuma and the infection A. hydrophila), 2) Kn: negative control (without a solution of curcuma and without the infection of A. hydrophila), 3) P1: curcuma 0.2 g / l, 4) P2: curcuma 0.4 g / l, 5) P3: curcuma 0.6 g / l. The average leukocyte activity and phagocytosis after soaking the highest and significantly different treatment P3 P <0.05 where for an average of 22.25 ribu/mm3 and leukocyte phagocytosis activity by 27.20%. Average A. hydrophila infected leukocytes after the highest yield in treatment P3 (27.70 ribu/mm3) showed no significantly different P> 0.05 and phagocytic activity after A. hydrophila infection was highest in treatment P3 (31.70%) showed different real P <0.05. it can be concluded that the use of solution with a concentration curcuma of 0.6 g / l can increase the resistance of the fish.Item The Effect of Different Sources of Paste Feed on Growth and Survival Rate of Sheetfish (Ompok rhadinurus Ng) Larvae(2013-01-07) Anniversary, FitriahThe research was conducted for 40 days from July 9th until August 17th 2012 at Hatchery and Fish Breeding Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty, Riau University. The aim of the research was to investigate the effect of different source of pasta feed on growth, survival rate and economic efficiency sheetfish (Ompok rhadinurus) larvae reared in 21 reciuculated aquarium. The best treatment was Tubifex sp feed with absolute growth rate 4,08 g, absolute length 8,44 cm, daily growth rate 15,03%/days and survival rate 77,78%. The best treatment of pasta meal was treatment P5 (intestines of chiken and Tubifex sp paste) with absolute growth rate 0,70 g and specific growth rate 10,65%, while absolute growth length was achieved by treatment P4 (fish and Tubifex sp paste ) 2,93 cm and survival rate was reached by treatment P3 (intestines of chiken paste) 45,56%. The best economic efficiency was treatment P3 Rp. 82/fish.Item Characteristics of Pond Bottom Soil Aquaculture from Koto Mesjid Village were Given of Different Lime Doses(2013-01-07) TardilusThis research was conducted from April until June 2012 at Soil and Water Quality Management Laboratory Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty of Riau University. Aim of this research was to investigate the effect of CaCO3 lime to the pond bottom soil characteristics and fertilize for pond bottom soil and the water quality. The method used was experimental method and randomized block design with 1 factor of CaCO3, with 5 lime doses level of CaCO3 from 0 g/m2, 6,67 g/m2, 56,00 g/m2, 112,00 g/m2, and 168,00 g/m2 respectively, and 2 group ponds that is new pond (with age pond from 0-4 years old) and old pond (with age pond from 5-10 years old). The result indicated that different doses of lime CaCO3 effect on soil quality such as pH, organic carbon, and CEC, while for water quality such as DO and hardness. The groups effect on soil quality such as pH and water quality such as DO and nitrat. The best result was achieved by a dose of lime CaCO3 on groups of old pond and new pond is 168,00 g/m2.Item PENGARUH DOSIS LARUTAN NENAS TERHADAP DAYA REKAT (ADHESIVENESS) DAN PENETASAN TELUR IKAN LELE DUMBO (Clarias gariepinus Burchell)(2013-01-07) Eka Saputra, EbriThe research was conducted on May 2012 at Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty Riau University.The purpose of this research was to find out the proper concentration of the pineapples solution in removing eggs adhesiveness of African Catfish (Claris gariepinus ) to increase the fertilization, hatching and survival rates. The dosage of pineapple solution used in this study were 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5% and without the use of a solution of pineapple as a control respectively. The results of this study indicate that the use of pineapple solution with various concentration did not remove the egg adhesiveness, the highest result of fertilization rate 80,5%, hatching rate 78,3% and survival rate 78.3% when the eggs was treated with 1,0% of pineapple solution.Item EFFECTS OF LACTIC ACID BACTERIA INJECTION ON SURVIVAL RATE OF TIGER GROUPER (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus)(2013-01-07) Mayasari, EkaA research on the effects of lactic acid bacteria injection on the survival rate of Epinephelus fuscoguttatus has been conducted from November until December 2011 in the Laboratorium of BBPBAP Jepara. The aims of the research was to understand the pathogenic effects of the lactic acid bacteria and to understand non- specific defense as well as survival rate of E. fuscoguttatus that were injected with the bacteria. Treatment applied was the different dosages of bacteria injection. Each fish was injected with 0,1 ml of lactic acid bacteria with 10 5 cells/ml, 10 7 cells/ml and 10 9 cells/ml densities. The treated fish were reared in 60 liter aquaria completed with aerators, 10 fish/ aquarium. The fish was feed ad libitum with commercial fish feed pellets. The fish were reared for 14 days and the clinical symptoms were checked daily. Before the injection and by the end of the research, survival rate, body weight increment, total length increment, leukocyte numbers, haematocrite and leucocrite levels were measured, while water quality parameters (pH, salinity, DO, temperature and ammonia content) were checked once/ 3 days. The best result was obtained in the fish that was injected with 10 9 cells/ml of lactic acid bacteria, as the survival rate was 100% and they showed highest increment of body weight (from 13,20 g to 16,20 g), total length (from 8 cm to 9,77cm), leukocyte number (from 89,270 cells/ml to 128,610 cells/ml), hematocrite level (from 22,3 % to 23,2%) and steady leucocrite level (1,0%). Water quality parameters indicate that the quality of the water quality during the research was good (DO 3,8 g/l – 4,3 g/l, temperature 26,2 0 C – 26,6 0 C, pH 7,6 – 7,8 , salinity 33 ppt and NH3 0,001 mg/l – 0,040 mg/l).Item UTILIZATION OF RUBBER SEED FLOUR AS MAIN FOOD OF MYSTUS NEMURUS(2013-01-07) Ade Saputra, ArisonThe research was conducted in April until June 2012. The aim of this research was to investigate suitable feed for the maturation of the gonads of sepat siam (Trichogaster pectoralis) reared with different feeding treatment such as Gonad Maturity Level (TKG), gonad maturation index (IKG), fecundity, egg maturation and egg diameter. The research method used was Completely Randomized Design (CDR) with three treatments and three replications. The treatment in this study were P1 (Tubifex sp), P2 (Shrimp pellet), P3 (Shrimp pellet + Vit E). The result showed that good feed for the maturation of the gonads was shrimp pellets + Vit E, reared for 42 days and the total fish reached TKG IV 75%, index gonad somatic 11.7 %, fecundity of 15.105 eggs, egg diameter 0.82 mm. The temperature range from 29 – 320 C, pH 6 – 8, dissolved oxygen 2.53 – 2.95 ppm, and turbidity of 15 – 22 cm.Item THE EFFECT OF IMPLANTATION ESTRADIOL-17β FOR FERTILITY, HATCHING RATE AND SURVIVAL RATE OF GREEN CATFISH (Mystus nemurus CV)(2013-01-09) Sihite, Fitria RonauliThe research was conducted from April 2012 until October 2012 at Fish Hatchery and Breeding Sei Paku Kampar. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of implantation estradiol-17β on fertility, hatching rate and survival rate of green catfish (Mystus nemurus CV). The method used was experimental method and RAL one factor with 3 levels of treatment. The treatment used in this research was implantation estradiol-17β with different dosage of P1= 200 μg/kg of body weight, P2= 400 μg/kg of body weight, P3= 600 μg/kg of body weight and P0= without estradiol-17β as a control respectively.
