Item The abundance of plankton in container pond with bottom podzolic red yellow soil on the basis of pond ages and CaCO3 liming(2013-06-07) Hadis, AbdulThis research was conducted from October to November 2012 at Environmental Quality Cultivation Laboratory Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty of Riau University. The purpose of this study was to determine the abundance of phytoplankton in the podzolic red yellow soil (PMK) with difference age of ponds and limings by Boyd (1979). Experimental method was used and complete random design (CRD) was applied. The treatments consist of pond ages ranging from 0-5 years old for O1; 6-10 years for O2; 11-15 years for O3; 16-20 years for O4. The results showed that 13 species were found and it consisted of Chlorophytes (7 species), Cyanophytes (5 species), and Bacillariophytes (1 species). The peak population was found at 10th days on the treatment with liming meanwhile at 8th days on the treatment without liming in average; - They were 16.060 ind/l and 10.463 ind/l in average respectively. Furthermore, the highest abundance of phytoplankton can be seen on the treatment O4 (16-20 years old pond) both for liming and without liming. In conclusion, the older the pond with liming was better than the younger the pond without liming.Item Characteristics of Pond Bottom Soil Aquaculture from Koto Mesjid Village were Given of Different Lime Doses(2013-01-07) TardilusThis research was conducted from April until June 2012 at Soil and Water Quality Management Laboratory Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty of Riau University.
