Abstract
The study was conducted from July to
September 2012, which was held in the
experimental ponds of Fisheries and
Marine Sciences Faculty of Riau
University Pekanbaru . The purpose of
this study was to determine the
appropriate solid dispersive in the
maintaining of Pantau Janggut fish
(EsamusMetallicus) in the cage culture.
The fish used in this study was the
Pantau Janggut seed with 4-5 cm in
length. Cage culture, with size of (1x 1
x 1) m3 consists of 12 units and the
feed given was the shrimp pellets.
The method used in this study was an
experimental method using a
completely randomized design (CRD)
with four treatments and three
replications. The treatment given P1 =
solid dispersive of 25 cages / P2 =
solid dispersive of 30 cages P3 = solid
dispersive of 35 cages and P4 = 40
solid dispersive cages.
The best treatment was P1 with
absolute growth weight of 5.14 g,
total of absolute growth length of 5.22
cm, daily growth rate of 0.76% and
survival of 97.92%.
Water quality parameters during the
study was temperature 29-320C, pH 6-7
and dissolved oxygen (DO) from 2.53
to 2.95 mg / l.
