Abstract

The research was conducted on May 2012 at Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty Riau University.The purpose of this research was to find out the proper concentration of the pineapples solution in removing eggs adhesiveness of African Catfish (Claris gariepinus ) to increase the fertilization, hatching and survival rates. The dosage of pineapple solution used in this study were 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5% and without the use of a solution of pineapple as a control respectively. The results of this study indicate that the use of pineapple solution with various concentration did not remove the egg adhesiveness, the highest result of fertilization rate 80,5%, hatching rate 78,3% and survival rate 78.3% when the eggs was treated with 1,0% of pineapple solution.
