Item ANALISIS BAKTERI Clostridium perfringens PADA IKAN TENGGIRI (Cybium commersoni) DI PERAIRAN BENGKALIS PROVINSI RIAU(2013-01-29) SepdwilisariBengkalis is one of the largest fish producer in the province of Riau with the amount of fishery production in 2009 from the arrest of 9443.80 tonnes. One of the marine fishery commodities needs to be known and widely used potential is mackerel. This study aimed to analyze the bacteria carried C. perfringens in fish mackerel in the waters Bengkalis. The benefits of research that can inform the presence of bacteria C. perfringens on mackerel fish (C. commersoni) and provide information on the whereabouts of the fishery and public health Bengkalis. The method used in this study is a survey method, where data obtained by direct observation in the field and analysis of bacterial C. perfringens in Marine Microbiology Laboratory. The results showed that the number of bacteria found in the digestive tract mackerel (C. commersonni) with a total of 1.0 x 107 cfu / ml, the number of bacteria in the gills contained 5.1 x 106 cfu / ml, while the number of bacteria found on meat 1.6 x 105 cfu / ml. Based on the results of this study concluded the number of bacteria C. perfringens in the digestive mackerel resulted in a suitable environment to accelerate the growth of the bacteria C. perfringens.Item ANALISIS BAKTERI Clostridium perfringens PADA SEDIMEN DI PERAIRAN BENGKALIS PROVINSI RIAU(2013-01-07) Daulay, HarisThe research was conducted in April 2012 in water of Bengkalis, Riau Province. This research aims to analyze of Clostridium perfringens on sediments of water in The Bengkalis coastal, Riau Provinces. Sediments of water were collected from Bengkalis coastal and then analyzed bacteriologically in The Marine Microbiology Laboratory of Marine Center. The data obtained by observation, measurement and sampling in the field, followed by the identification C. perfringens. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The C. perfringens counts varied according to types of sediments and location sampling. The inoculation thecnique is surface plate method on TSC Agar. The species identification included morphological, observation, fisical and biochemical test. The distribution of C. perfringens is connected of with coastal oceanography condition. The counts ranged from 3,9 x 104 - 6,1 x 104 cell/grams in sediments of water. The highest C. perfringens counts was found on water of Damon, Rimba Sekampung and Kelapa Pati Villages.Item ANALISIS BAKTERI Clostridium perfringens PERAIRAN SELAT BARU KECAMATAN BANTAN KABUPATEN BENGKALIS PROVINSI RIAU(2013-02-01) Siahaan, Deasy MelinaAnalysis of Clostridium perfringens in Selat Baru held in May 2012 and analyzes were conducted at the Marine Microbiology Laboratory of Marine Science, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Riau University. The results showed that the amount of bacteria ranged from 3,0 x 103 to 1,1 x 107 cfu/ml. Given that the trend of the number of bacterial colonies on the surface of the waters of the most abundant in station 3. Rod-shaped cells or chains and gram-positive bacteria with negative test motility, positive catalase, positive H2S test and positive methyl red test. While the results of water parameters were 31oC temperature, depth 2.7 m, pH 6, salinity 25.66 ‰, brightness of 69.33 cm and flow velocity 0.11 m/sec.Item ANALISIS BAKTERI PEMBENTUK HISTAMIN PADA IKAN TONGKOL DI PERAIRAN PASIE NAN TIGO KOTO TANGAH PADANG SUMATERA BARAT(2013-01-07) Kurniawan, RomiTuna is one food that is consumed and if left at room temperature, then a process of deterioration to rot. Fish that has undergone a process of decay, when consumed can cause poisoning. Poisoning is caused by contamination with pathogenic bacteria decarboxylated amino acid histidine by the enzyme histidine decarboxylase produce histamine. The purpose of this study was to analyze the growth of histamine-forming bacteria in tuna that can cause disruption to public health. The method used in this study is an experimental method with a non-factorial completely randomized design by using 6 samples of tuna and 3 repetitions. Analysis of total histamine forming bacteria that has been done, where the selection results showed that a total of 6 samples of bacteria tuna ranged between 4.4x104 - 1.83x106 cells / gram. The total yield of bacteria that form is still below the threshold (less than or equal to 106). The results of this research can be a guide for further research using niven medium was modified in order to detect histamine-forming bacteria betterItem ANALISIS KANDUNGAN LOGAM Pb DAN Cu PADA AIR DAN SEDIMEN DI PERAIRAN MANTANG KABUPATEN BINTAN PROVINSI KEPULAUAN RIAU ANALYSIS CONCENTRATION OF HEAVY METAL Pb AND Cu IN SEAWATER AND SEDIMENT OF MANTANG COASTAL WATERS RIAU ARCHIPELAGO PROVINCE(2013-05-27) sandilla, RizaThis research was conducted on March 2013. Samples of seawater and sediment were collected from Mantang coastal waters, Riau Archipelago and analyzed for their Pb and Cu concentrations in UPT Pengujian Dinas Pekerjaan Umum Laboratory Riau Province Pekanbaru using AAS shimadzu AA-7000. The results showed that Pb concentrations in seawater and sediment were higher in station closed to Station 2 (0,707 mg/L and 13,137 μg/g) respectively than that in other stations. Cu concentrations in seawater were higher in station 1 (0,05 mg/L) and concentrations in sediment were higher in station 2 (10,140 μg/g). Concentrations of Pb and Cu in water of Mantang coastal waters were still higher than Kepmen LH No 51, 2004 values. Concentrations of Pb and Cu in sediment of Mantang coastal waters were still lower than IADC/CEDA (1997) values. which can be concluded that Mantang coastal waters does not have bad impact to organisms living in the surrounding area.Item ANALISIS KANDUNGAN LOGAM Pb, Cu DAN Zn PADA AIR LAUT DAN SEDIMEN DI PERAIRAN TELUK PANGKE KABUPATEN KARIMUN PROVINSI KEPULAUAN RIAU(2013-07-31) Wijaya, Bambang; Bintal Amin; Syahril NediThis research was conducted on April 2013. Sampel of sea water and sediment were taken fromPangke Bay waters Karimun Regency, Riau Archipelago. Analysis of heavy metal concentration was carried out in Marine Chemistry Laboratory Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau by using an Atomic Absortion Spectrophotometer Perkin Elmer 3110. The results showed that highest consentration of Pb and Zn insea water was found in around PT. Saipem Indonesia waters (0,0623 mg/L and 0,4937 mg/L) and concentration of Cu was highest in PT. Pacific Granita port (0,0390 mg/L). Whilst the highest concentration of Pb was found in around PT. Saipem Indonesia waters (8,6333µg/g), Cu in anthropogenic activities area (2,5766 µg/g) and Zn in PT. Pacific Granita port (8,8500 µg/g).The lowest concentration of Pb, Cu and Zn was found in station nearby mangrove area and far from industrial activities (0,0487, 0,0146 and 0,0397 mg/L for sea water and 3,3500, 0,6183 and 5,8000 μg/g for sediment) for Pb,Cu and Zn respectively. Concentrations of Pb, Cu and Zn in sediment of Pangke Bay were still lower than ERL and ERM values which can be concluded that Pangke Bay waters does not have negative impact to organisms living in the surrounding area.Item Analisis Kandungan Minyak Pada Air dan Sedimen di Perairan Sekitar Bungus Teluk Kabung Kota Padang Sumatera Barat(2013-01-07) Ariani, FitriA study on the oil content in water and sediment were carried out around Bungus Bay in April 2012. The purpose of the study was to provide baseline data on environmental quality of the Bungus Bay. It revealed that the highest oil content found in Pertamina point (0.5300 ppm), while the lowest found in residential area (0.3530 ppm), sediment oil of content was highest in residential region (2035.8632 ppm). According to standard quality value of sea water, oil content of water has not exceeded the threshold value (<5 ppm) and oil content of sediment has exceeded the threshold value (>100 ppm).Item ANALYSIS OF BUTTERFLY FISH (CHAETODONTIDAE) ABUNDANCE IN THE CORAL REEF ECOSYSTEM IN BERALAS PASIR ISLAND BINTAN REGENCY(2013-07-20) Simbolon, Surya AsriObservation was conducted to determine the abundance of Butterfly fish (Chaetodontidae) and live coral cover, and to see the comparison of the aboundance of the butterlfy fish among three different station in Beralas Pasir Island regency Bintan in May 2013. Based on the results of the research was found that Chaetodontidae fish species consisted of two genera, three species namely Chaetodon octovactiatus, Chaetodon decussatus, and Chelmon rostratus. Chaetodontidae abundance was found 0.088 ind/m2 with categorized slightly and the percentage of live coral cover of 47.56% which is considered moderate.Item ANALYSIS OF THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SURFACE SEDIMENT IN ROKAN HILIR AND BENGKALIS WATERS PROVINCE OF RIAU ANALISIS KARAKTERISTIK SEDIMEN PERMUKAAN DASAR DI PERAIRAN ROKAN HILIR DAN BENGKALIS PROVINSI RIAU(2013-07-20) Azim, ZulThe research was conducted on November 2012 in Rokan Hilir and Bengkalis Waters of Province Riau. The aim of this research was to describe the sedimentary enviroment in Rokan Hilir and Bengkalis waters. Sediment sample obtained from 4 station in Rokan Hilir water and 4 stasion in Bengkalis was using mechanical analysis. Q-mode cluster analysis was carried out based on mean diameter, sorting, skewnes and kurtosis. Based on result of Cluster Analysis, the research area were dividied into the following three area. 1) area located around fishing area, Liong estuary and Malacca strait, characterized by very fine grained sediment, influenced by unstable bottom currents and very weak tidal currents, 2) the area located around settlement areas, characterized by very fine grained sediment, influenced by unstable bottom currents but unsignificant and weak tidal current, and 3) area located around Malacca strait, fishing area and Rokan estuary, characterized by very fine grained sediment, influenced by ustable bottom currents and very weak tidal currents.Item ANALYSIS ORGANIC MATERIALS AND COMMUNITY STRUCTURE IN THE MANGROVE SWAMP OF MAKROZOOBENTHOS IN ROKAN HILIR REGENCY(2013-01-21) Azian, MeliaThe research was conducted in July 2012 in the area of mangrove swamp of Halang Island, Rokan Hilir Regency. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between sedimentary organic matter and makrozoobenthos diversity in the mangrove of Halang Muka Island and Halang Belakang Island. The results showed that the relations his of organic sediment and abundance of makrzoobenthos showed a strong and positive correlation , wheres mean that increased organic matter will increase the abundance of makrozoobenthos. These result points out that nitrate concentration on basic station sampling at 0,027 0,032 mg / L. Meanwhile phosphate concentration on each ranging station 0,875 – 0,916 mg / L. base on the research station is found 27 specieses at diatom, species at diatom that often emerges at each station is Skeletonema Costatum. This species gets character euryhaline andeurythermal. Concentration nitrate the River Estuary waters Rokan categorised lush reducing waters (oligotropik)meanwhile for phosphate concentration comprises (mesotropik). According to subjective research result nitrate concentration with profusion at diatom while blows over to be gotten can r =0,84 and while assemble to be can r=0,34. The research is aimed to analize the association of Crown of Thorns Acanthaster planci with the coral Foliose growthand the distribution os Crown of Thorns Acanthaster planci in the area of the research. The methods used in this reasearch is the survey methods. Transect was placed parralel with the coastal lineand placed on the square plot of (5x5 m) with five square plot in each station. The reasearch found that there are association between the two species of Acanthaster planci with the coral with Foliose growth in each of the research station, therefore, H0 received on the significant level of 0,05 (5%) (x(hitung) < x(tabel)), with the distribution pattern Acanthaster planci showing in groups, where MI > 1. On the station I with the depth 6, there were no Acanthaster planci found and the coral Foliose growth. This is influenced by the organic faktor for it’s need for nutrient as well as the environmental factors which are stabil and good which really support its growth.Item ATTACHEMENT OF BIOFOULING (BALLANUS SPP) ON THE BODY OF WOODEN BOAT, FIBER AND METAL IN SIBOLGA HARBOUR NORTH SUMATERA(2013-01-07) Naibaho, JefriantoA study on the distribution of biofouling organism (Barnacle Spp) attached on body wall of boat of different material were conducted in sibolga harbour,North sumatera It showed that aboundance of barnacles in wooden,fiber,and metal were 637, 107 and 34 individu/m2, respectively. Statistically the aboundence were significantly different which related to physical properties (nough,smoth ) of the wall of boat.Item Bioecology and Natural Habitat Characteristics of Sea Turtles in Pariaman Coast(2013-01-07) Leni, YuyamA study on bioecology and habitat characteristics of sea turtle nesting ground was carrid out from May to June 2012 . The present study aimed at finding out the bioecology and physical characteristics of nesting ground of sea turtles. Apparently, 7 individu craeked turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) were encounterred. Average of 69 cm in length, and carapac width of 19 cm, depth of step of 5 cm, and length of track of 12 m. Intutidal were flat with slope of 0.93-7,11o. Vegetation found were coconut (Cocos nucifera), pine tree (Casuarina equisetifolia), ketaping, ceriop sp. The sand colour were brown sand, water temperature of 29-30o C and salinity range 33-34 ‰, the water pH measured was 8.Item The Comparison of Diversity and Abundance Diatom (Bacillariophyta) In Bagan Siapiapi and Bengkalis Waters Area Riau Province(2013-06-26) Diniya, AtikaThe research was conducted in November 2012 in Bagan Siapiapi dan Bengkalis waters area, Riau Province. The research was aimed to find out the comparison of diversity and abundance diatom and shown the waters fecundity. Each location was divided into four stations, included Malacca Strait, fishing ground, estuary and settlement area. The study found 16 species of Centrales diatoms and 4 species of Pennales diatoms. The highest species total abundance among two location was at station 3, i.e. 50.522,752 sel/L, and the lowest was at station 7, i.e. 11.006,7424 sel/L. The highest individual abundance was shown by R. alata forma gracillma and Thallasiosira gravida. Bagan Siapiapi waters area was at the normal condition, it was indicated by no species was dominating the waters, so do Bengkalis. However, based on the results the Bagan Siapiapi’s was at middle level of contamination and Bengkalis’s was at low level of contamination.Item CONCENTRATION OF HEAVY METAL PLUMBUM (Pb) AND CUPPRUM (Cu) IN SEAWATER AND SEDIMENT OF BATUBARA COASTAL WATERS NORTH SUMATRA PROVINCE(2012-10-16) Gultom, JefriThis research was conducted on August 2011. Samples of seawater and sediment were collected from Batubara coastal waters, North Sumatra and analyzed for their Pb and Cu concentrations using AAS Perkin Elmer 3110 in Marine Chemistry Laboratory Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Riau University, Pekanbaru. The results showed that Pb and Cu concentrations in seawater and sediment were higher in station closed to PT Inalum Port (0,82 mg/L and 0,05 mg/L; 13,10 μg/g and 11,24 μg/g) for Pb and Cu in seawater and sediment, respectively than that in other stations. The lowest heavy metal concentration was found in station nearby mangrove area (0,42 mg/L and 0,02; 11,53 μg/g and 6,49 μg/g) for pb and cu in seawater and sediment respectively. Concentrations of Pb and Cu in sediment of Batubara coastal waters were still lower than ERL and ERM values which can be concluded that Batubara coastal waters does not have negative impact to organisms living in the surrounding area.Item The Content Of Heavy Metals Pb, Cu, Zn On Several Types Of Mollusks In Waters Concong Luar Indragiri Hilir district of Riau province(2013-01-21) Priansyah, ZianThe research was carried out in April 2012 with the aim of analyzing the content of metals Pb, Cu, and Zn in some types of mollusks in waters of Concong Luar Indragiri Hilir district of Riau province and status of aquatic pollution by using the value of MPI (metal pollution index), as well as to analyze the feasibility level of consumption of several types of molluscs originating from An Concong. The method used is the method by which the survey sampling location is determined by purposive sampling and continued with the analysis of heavy metals in the laboratory. Results of the study showed that the content of heavy metals Pb, Cu and Zn in Lokan (5,63; 21.40; 14.02 μ g/g) is higher than in the Blood Cockle (3.24; 8,17; 9.09 μ g/g) and Red Eye Sea Snail (4.38; 9,19; 11.92 μ g/g). Based on the status of the pollution of the waters of the retrieved value of MPI of 8.65 at Concong Luar waters Indragiri Hilir district, which means low polluted waters.Item DISTRIBUSI DIATOM PLANKTONIK DI PERAIRAN MUARA SUNGAI MESJID KOTA DUMAI(2013-01-16) Abi Kusuma, DarmaDiatom is one of microalgae that are widely distributed throughout the aquatic environment. Diatom are very susceptible to any condition that occurs in the water. In the Sungai Mesjid water is occur many activity of human that environmental condition have an impact on ecosystem, especially marine diatom. This research was aimed to analyze distribution of planktonic diatom in the water of Muara Sungai Mesjid Kota Dumai. Data was obtained by using survey methods to make observations, measurements and sampling in the field. Identification of diatom samples was conducted at Integrated Laboratory of Marine Sciences, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau. The total number of planktonic diatom in the water Muara Sungai Mesjid were 12 species. The most total number of planktonic diatom found were Planktoniella sol and Chaetoceros debilis. Based on value of diversity index (H '), dominance (D), equability (E) and water quality parameters showed that condition of Sungai Mesjid is still balance. Water quality in the water of Sungai Mesjid is middle level of contamination.Item Distribution of Barnacle (Balanus spp) on The Pole of Harbour PT. Persero Indonesia Sibolga North Sumatera(2012-11-22) Lumban Gaol, DonaldA Study on the distribution and abundance of biofouling, Barnacles (Balanus spp) were conducted in May 2012. The objective of the study was to find out and analyze the distribution of the barnacle in relation to currents, depth of water. It revealed that current velocity affected the abundance in that greater current velocity brought about lower abundance. It addition, the abundance of Barnacles (Balanus spp) were higher on the subsurface compared to that on the above surface of water. This differences were due to food supply and duration of filtering activity of Barnacles (Balanus spp).Item The Distribution of Coral Pocillopora damicornis in Sikuai Island of Padang City, West Sumatra(2013-01-14) Candra, AdekThis study was carried out in June 2012. It took place in the coastal waters of Sikuai Island in the West Sumatra Province. Survey method on coral study was used and nine stations with three sampling points each were chosen for data collection. These data were counted by using quadratic transect with 4 x 4 m2 in size. The results showed that P. demicornis are clustered about 52 m from the shoreline reaching 0.5 m depth at the station I. Similar feature of distribution was also seen at the station III, however, none was found at the station II. Coral coloniesof P.damicornisfound on the station I amounted to 59 colonies with an average diameter of 16.7, and the size range 1-23 cm, where as colonies on third station number 25with an average diameter of 10.65 and sizes range from1-25cm.
