Item PROMOTIONAL STRATEGIES OF DEPARTEMENT OF CULTURE AND TOURISM OF TANJUNGPINANG RIAU ARCHIPELAGO IN PROMOTING ATTRACTION OF PENYENGAT ISLAND(2013-01-15) Simbara, AgusABSTRACK Penyengat island is one of the tour attractions which is a mainstay in Tanjungpinang city. The tour attractions are under the administrationof Department of Culture and Tourism of Tanjungpinang, Riau Archipelago which is responsible to introduce to local and foreign tourists. The purpose of this study is to investigate the use of promotional strategies of Department of Culture and Tourism of Tanjungpinang in promoting attractions of Penyengat Island and the factors that affect promotion strategies to promote attractions of Penyengat Island. This study uses a qulitative descriptive writing methods and data collection techniques that can be sorted by reality in the field through observation, interviews and documentation. Informants of this study is amounted to 16 people were taken by purposive sampling method. Author uses Interactive Data Analysis Model to describe result of research in data analysis and for checking the validity of data, author uses participatory extension techniques and triangulation. The result shows that the promotion strategy carried out by Department of Culture and Tourism of Tanjungpinang is not maximum.
