In 2006, South Africa and China concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Promoting Bilateral Trade and Economic Co-operation. The MoU included an annexure limiting imports of 31 categories of clothing and textile products from China through a quota system to protect domestic industry. This decision caused since 2001 China s textile product was dominate in South Africa s market. The import s volume on textile and clothing product have been increase every year and make South African textile domestic product on worstly position because at the same time job losses of the textile industry shows increase significantly. This article shows that the dominate of China s textile product make development of South Africa s textile industry on stagnant position because many job losses happen and several of domestic textile company are collapse permanently.en_US
