Abstract
The purpose of observation is :1) To know description of independent in student
learning before giving counseling group;2) To know how self improvement in student
learning process of the elder student after giving counseling group;3) To know
significant the differention of independent in the elder student learning,before and after
giving counseling group;4) How huge the influence of service group counseling to
independent of the elder student. The variable of this study consisted of a single
variable with two variants is before independent in student learning and group
counseling of elder student in post-independence group counseling. Hypothesis :there
are significant group counseling on self improvement in student learning. The study
population was atenth grade student in the academic year 2012/2013,amounting to 20
students. Sampling technique using a purposive sampling means sampling technique
with particular consideration of the students’ independent learning of student who are
being categorized. The method used was experimental pattern Quasi One Group : One
group pre-test and post-test design. To gather file about students’ independence in
learning child is used questionnaires. Analysis file was perfomed using statistical
techniques to a percentage formula, r t test and test. Based on the results obtained
independence in student learning child before the given group counseling in idle
category. Having held group counseling apparently there is an increased independence
in student learning child
