Abstract
lndustries are required to operate more efliciently in order to compete with other industries.
PT. Ewan Super Wood are engaged in manufacturing in the manufacture of plywood. Current
conditions and the balance of the production facility layout line constrained production
company.This study aimed to redesign the layout of the plywood manufacturing facility to
minimize the path length of material handling and production line considers the balance.
The approach used to redesign the layout of plant ffacilities is by using a Systematic Layout
Planning (SLP), which can be categorized intD three stageS of material flow analysis phase,
the research stage and the stage of the selection process. While the analysis of equilibrium
trajectories using Ranked Positioned Weight (RPW). The results of this study conduded that
the proposed layout chosen for the final layout used in this study showed a decrease in path
length of material handling is a significant 107.2 m or approximately 24.44% shorter than
the initial layout. Decreased length of the flow of material handling layout chosen also
affected because by balancing production line.
