Abstract:
The hydrazone is a substitution compound with a stable imine type that has an
azomethine group (-NH-N=C-R-) which plays a role in its biological activity, one of
which is as a breast anticancer. As of this writing, it is reported synthesize the
hydrazone compound with IUPAC name (Z)-4-((2-isonicotinyl hydrazone)methyl)-2-
methoxyphenyl benzensulfonate. The hydrazone was synthesized by reacting the Oalklated
compound 4- formyl-2-methoxyphenyl benzenesulfonate and isoniazid with
glacial acetic acid catalyst and ethanol absolut as solvent. The structure of the
synthesized compounds was confirmed through UV, FTIR and LC-MS spectroscopic
analysis. The method used in the synthesis of hydrazone compounds was microwave
irradiation. The yield obtained from the synthesis of hydrazone compounds was
88.45%.
