Abstract
Sanseviera is an ornamental planted of export commodities. It can absorb 107 elements
of air pollutants. Anthracnose disease caused by Colletotrichum sanseviera often attack
on the leaf of Sansevieria trifasciata. Genus Trichoderma consists of several fungal
strains with biological control ability. Effect of Trichoderma spp indigenous endophytes
from Riau as biocontrol of C. sanseviera was investigated on S. trifaciata leaf. Pathogen
was inoculated by spray prick method. Inhibitory activity assay was conducted under
laboratory condition. Histopathological observation of C. sanseviera infected tissue of
the leaf indicated severely affected plant tissue. Anthracnose changed leaf colour to
brown, irregular cell shape, and cell wall thickening. T. harzianum reduced the number
and size of lesions caused by the pathogen. Many isolate’s hyphae were seen on the cell
walls of plants.
