    Root Mean Square Newton’s Method
    (2017-10-14) Syamsudhuha, Syamsudhuha; Muhammad, Imran
In this paper we discuss a new modification of Newton’s method based on Root Mean Square rule for solving nonlinear equations. We show that the convergence of the proposed method is of order three. We verify the theoretical results on relevant numerical problems and compare the behavior of the propose method with some mean based Newton’s method

DEVELOPMENT OF LOW-COST CAPACITANCE-TYPE SENSOR FOR LIQUID LEVEL MEASUREMENT
    (2014-03-10) Umar, Lazuardi
In this paper, an attempt has been made to design a low-cost noncontact capacitancetype level sensor for a conducting liquid. The sensor is in the form of a uniform circular stainless steel cylinder of type IC-00179H-2005/I and BS4127-ALSI304, with diameter of 15-25mm and 700mm length. The inner electrode is made of insulating material of PTFE-insulated wire with diameter 0.52 - 3.0 mm. The minimum of measured capacitance is 52.81 pF with sensitivity of 0.283 pF/mm by the maximum water level of 550mm.

RECONSTRUCTION OF THE R-T-CURVE OF THE THERMISTOR SENSOR BASED ON PARAMETER EXTRACTION OF THE CURRENT-VOLTAGE CURVE
    (2014-03-10) Umar, Lazuardi
A parameter extraction of the current-voltage curve of the thermistor sensor for reconstruction of its resistance-temperature dependency curve is proposed. The sensor is supplied with variable voltage of 0-30V and measured in a climatic room with temperature from -20°C to +80°C to obtain the current-voltage characteristic. Parameter extraction is used to control parameter changes of important sensor parameters such as resistances RTo and the temperature coefficient b of the thermistor itself in accordance to the temperature TM of the medium. The result of the parameter extraction gives RTo value 143.286 Ω at temperature of 373K, temperature coefficient b1 0.01 K-1 and b2 9.993 10-3 K-2 respectively and are used to reconstruct the R-T-curve.
