Item Observation of topical gill application of ovaprim and DMSO for induced spawning of comet (Carasius auratus auratus)(2013-01-28) Hartono, RudiAn alternative way to induce fish to spawn is topical gill aplication. This research was conducted to evaluate the use of ovaprim and DMSO as a solvent for topical gill aplication to induced spawning of comet ( carassius auratus auratus ) Four treatment groups was avaluated : (1) topical gill application of 0.3 ml/kg BW dimetil sulfoxide (DMSO), (2) topical gill application of DMSO+ ovaprim ,and (3) topical gill application of 0.3 ml/kgBW of ovaprim and (4) an ovaprim intrumuscular (IM) injection. The result showed that the best injection for ovulation was the application of gill with dose DMSO 0,3 ml/kg body weight + ovaprim 0,3 ml/kg body weight, where it could generate a laten period of 1658 grains, the number of impregnation was 28,69 %, the number of hatching rate was 17,90 % and the highest number of alive was in treatment of gill aplication with dose DMSO 0,3 ml/kg body weight with amount of 91,82%.
