dc.description.abstract | The use of organic matters such as bagasse, rice husk, shrimp shell and dregs as a source of nutrients for Trichoderma pseudokoningii Rifai is very important. T. pseudokoningii are formulated in such matters expected to be used as a biological control agent against the Ganoderma boninense Pat. which causes stem rot disease in oil palm plantations. This study aimed to determine the effect of some organic matters and its combinations, and to get a suitable organic matters and its combinations in support the antagonist of T. pseudokoningii to inhibit G. boninense in vitro. This research has been conducted in the Laboratory of Plant Pathology, Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau which lasted for 4 months from May to August 2012. This study has been conducted using a completely randomized design consisted of 15 treatments (bagasse, rice husk, shrimp shell, dregs and its combination) and 3 replications. Data obtained from the observations were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance, followed by Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT). The results indicated that there is an significant effects caused by some organic matters and its combinations on the antagonistic fungus T. pseudokoningii in inhibiting G. boninense in vitro. Rice husk, bagasse, bagasse+rice husks and bagasse+dregs gave a good ability to support the growth and ability of the fungus T. pseudokoningii to inhibit G. boninense compared with other organic matters composition. This research also indicated that the use of shrimp shell, bagasse+shrimp shell, rice husk+shrimp shell, shrimp shell+dregs and rice husk+shrimp shell+dregs causes the growth of fungus T. pseudokoningii fully inhibited. | en_US |
