Abstract

The objective of this research is to analize the communication strategy of innovation in developing tourist village of Desa Meskom in Bengkalis Regency. In other hand, this research also wants to understand the factors that impade the communication strategy. This research used qualitative method through a descriptive study. The techniques of collecting data of this research were by using depth interview, non-participant observation, and documentation. The communication strategy of Bengkalis Regency in developing tourist village is not well enough, even the goverment used some strategy through some steps to achieve its goals. The strategy made by goverment does not involved the society yet. The implementation of communication stategy of Bengkalis goverment used some communication channels such as: brochure, pamphlet, exhibition, ect. But this strategy is always impaded by the social psychology and the limited human resources. Some factors that influence the communication strategy are innovation which did not participate the society, the intensity of communication channels used, and adoption without communication continuously.
