Abstract
Fish Scales of Waste Fish Lomak (Leptobarbus hoevanii) has a collagen, chitin and chitosan and some other functional groups, so it can be used in the synthesis adsorbent. Based on that potential as an adsorben can be identified by characterizing and see the surface area by adsorption of methylene blue and functional groups using FTIR Spektroskopy. Utilization of waste fish scales with washing, drying and grinding to form a powder and then sieved with produce 2 sizes of LSI, 1 (100 <x<200 mesh) and LSI, 2 (x ≥ 200 mesh) so that it can be used as an adsorbent. Result characterizing the adsorbent with a surface area determination using methylene blue (LSI,1) is 8,2835 m2/g and (LSI,2) is 10,1553 m2/g. Determine of functional groups using the componds that show a difference FTIR spektoscopy chemical groups such as vibrational strain functional groups of –OH and amine, -CH, vibration and strain of –CH2, –CH3, carboxylate, carbonyl, sulfonic groups and alkene.
