dc.description.abstract | Four chalcones containing naphthalene moiety were synthesized from acetylnaphthalene and chlorobenzaldehyde by aldol condensation reaction under stirring with aqueous KOH solution as catalyst. Those compounds were identified as (E)-3-(2-chlorophenyl)-1-(naphthalen-1-yl)prop- 2-en-1-one (CN1), (E)-3-(2-chlorophenyl)-1-(naphthalen-2-yl)prop-2-en-1-one (CN2), (E)-3- (4-chlorophenyl)-1-(naphthalen-1-yl) prop-2-en-1-one (CN3) and (E)-3-(4-chlorophenil)-1- (naphthalen-2-yl)prop-2-en-1-one (CN4) with yield of 81.9%, 61.7%, 90.1% and 98.3%, respectively. All the synthesized compounds were characterized by spectroscopic data analyses including HRMS and NMR. | en_US |
