Abstract
Weeds are plants that commonly grow in unnecesary places that may disturb other plants arround it, and may adverse human. One of alternative weed controls in organic farming system is the use of organic herbicides. Potential crop as organic herbicides includes Ageratum conyzoides, Cymbopogon citratus and Piper betle which contain essential oil and alelopat. This study aimed to determine the effect of the extract combination and determine the best concentration combination of A. conyzoides, C. citratus and P. betle extract on the inhibition of germination and growth of Borreria alata. This study used GRD and consisted of five treatments: control, 100 g/L, 200 g/L, 300 g/L and 400 g/L extract combinations, each treatment was repeated three times. The data was analyzed with ANOVA and if the result is significantly different, it is tested with DMRT. The results showed that all of the extract combination treatments were able to reduce the germination and growth of B. alata. The best extract concentration to decrease the germination and seedling growth of weeds was 400 g/L.
