Abstract
The problem of this research is the mathematics learning outcomes in the class IV D
student of SD Negeri 105 Pekanbaru still low so it needs to be improved trough the
application of guided inquiry learning. This research was conducted on April to May
2012. The subject of this research is the class VI D student of SD Negeri 105
Pekanbaru, which amount 31 students. The aim of the research is to know the students
improvement in learning mathematics by using guided inquiry learning. Doe to the
elementary students curiousity is very high, with their look, hold and work together,
so that the learning objectives can be achieved well, the data analysis techniques used
to measure students mastery of concept acquired in daily test. In the daily test cycle I,
the students who complete 18 students, the achievement was 68,4 %. On the cycle II,
the student who complete 28 students, and who didn’t complete 3 students. The
achievement was 88,7 %. The increase from cycle I to cycle II was 20,3 %.in
addition, it is used to observes the teacher and students activities of class IV D
SD Negeri 105 Pekanbaru. By filling out the field observation sheet that has been
provided. The teacher activity during the study and application of guided inquiry
learning in the cycle II 97,5 % ( excellent). Students activities in the cycle I 73,3 %
(good). On the cycle II 87,5 % (excellent). From the result of the above research, it is
know that the application of guided inquiry learning can improve mathematics
learning outcomes of the class IV D students of SD Negeri 105 Pekanbaru.
