Abstract
Fusarium moniliforme and Ganoderma boninense fungi attack caused rot disease on
corn cob and stem rot disease on palm oil. Those fungi attack has increased recently, so
that environmentally indigenous biological control agents is required. The purpose of
this study was to determine the ability of a collection of a phosphate-solubilizing
bacteria (PSB) isolated from peat soil in Bukit Batu and Kampar Peninsula, Riau as an
anti-fungal agents to inhibit the growth of F. moniliforme and G. boninense. Antifungal
activity test was conducted using disc method. The inhibition zone was measured after
five days. The results showed that 10 PSB isolates have anti-fungal activity againts F.
moniliforme with the highest inhibition zone produced by BB-HS16 isolate (48.25 mm).
Six PSB isolates have antifungal activity against G. boninense with the highest
inhibition zone 16.75 mm as shown by BB-H8 isolate. Three isolates have the ability to
inhibit G. Boninense and F. moniliforme.
