Abstract
This research is a classroom action research that aims to increase interest
and biology learning outcomes with the use of media in the classroom LCD
projectors VIII
A
SMPN 1 Kampar kiri Academic Year 2012/2013. This study was
conducted in February-March 2013. The research subjects were students of
SMPN 1 Kampar kiri VIII
A
. Number of students is 30 students (12 boys and 18
girls). Parameters of this study was student interest with 6 indicators and
outcomes of student learning consists of absorption and mastery learning students.
Average student interest before media use LCD projectors is 1.77 (medium) rose
after media use LCD projectors in the first cycle with an average 2.69 (high), and
the second cycle with an average of 2.93 (high). Absorption of students in cycle 1
was 72.33% (average) increased to 81.16% (excellent) in the second cycle.
Mastery learning students in cycle 1 was 80% (completed) increased in the second
cycle to 93.33% (complete). The average activity of students in cycle 1 was
66.66% (or less) increased in the second cycle to 81.68% (excellent). The average
activity of teachers in cycle 1 was 96% (excellent) increased in the second cycle
to 100% (excellent). From these results it can be concluded that the use of LCD
Projectors media can increase interest and learning outcomes VIII
