dc.description.abstractProtection system is one important part of the electrical system. Relay is an important part of a system of protection, relays commonly used to secure the low voltage of the electric motor from overload is Thermal Overload Relay (TOR) which is a type of electromagnetic relays. Now the relay has been made to cope with the load over a microcontroller-based digital relay. This work is based on the characteristics of relay inverse where the greater the fault current relay will work more quickly, with the selection of class 10 which is a type of class that is on overload relays in general. Working principle of overload relay microcontroller based ATMega8535 this is if the current exceeds the current setting ATMega8535 microcontroller will then instruct the driver to trip relay with inverse time characteristics, with the length of time specified by the trip ATMega8535 microcontroller, and a low voltage electric motor will stop.en_US
