Abstrack
The specific objective of this study is to increase the ability of the five year students in IPA subject at SDN 168 Pekanbaru by using guide inquiry . Guide Inquiry is a model inquiry that on implementation the teacher by leader or instruction to students. This research was conducted at SDN 168 Pekanbaru from April in academic year 2012. The sample of the research is 38 the five year students ; 23 male students and 15 female students. The data of collection technique is a test and observation by using analysis descriptive. The research instrument is an objective test and observation sheet of teacher and student. The result of both cycle in this research shows that the increasing mean score from first cycle (73,55) to second cycle (80,13) is 14,87 and the number of pass student also increase from 23 students in first cycle become 34 students in second cycle. The activity teacher increase from enough level (65%) in first cycle become good level (81,25%) in second cycle, and the activity students also increase from enough level (62,5%) in first cycle become good level (80%) in second cycle. So, it may be concluced that the using guide inquiry model could increase the ability of the five year students in IPA subject at SDN 168 Pekanbaru.
