dc.description.abstractHydrazone which is a compound with the group ‒CH=N‒NH‒. Hydrazone containing azomethin -NHN=CH- can be synthesized by heating at a certain temperature by substituting hydrazine/hydrazide with an aldehyde and has various bioactivities such as anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, and anti-bacterial. For further development in this research, the synthesis of the compound N'1N'3-bis-((E,Z)-2-bromobenzyliden)malonohydrazide was carried out by reacted malonohydrazide with 2-bromobenzaldehyde added glacial acetic acid catalyst to accelerate the formation reaction through a condensation reaction used heating method (reflux) at temperature 50-60°C and stirring. The yield of the purity of the compound was determined by using the TLC, melting point and HPLC analysis. The purified compounds were identified using spectroscopic analysis of UV, and FTIR,. Toxicity test was determined by BSLT method used shrimp larvae (Artemia salina Leach). Based on the results of research that has been carried out, the DB-2Br compound has been successfully synthesized with a yield of 90%, and is toxic with a value of LC50 = 2.8 μg/mL.en_US
