| dc.description.abstract | The research was conducted on May-June 2012 in the Sungai Mesjid, Dumai, Riau Province. The purpose of this research was to determine the amount of litter production, the content of carbon and the decomposition rate of litter in Xylocarpus sp . The method in this research is a survey that conducted by observation and sampling of litter on the ground, then followed by analised litter in the laboratory of Marine Ecology Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau. Based on research that has been done, it is known that the largest amount of litter production found in the largest amount of Xylocarpus sp stands with the production value of 480 gbk/m2/60 day or 8 gbk/m2/day, while the biggest value of carbon’s content present in the largest amount of litter production with 50,2 % percentage contribution of carbon value per day at station I. For the higgest decomposition rate of litter found in the smallest amount of Xylocarpus sp stands at station III with 1,51 % percentage of decomposition rate per day. | en_US |
