dc.description.abstractThis research purposed to explain the the phenomena that occur in Indonesia in creating a positive image in the eyes of the international community through the SEA Games 2011. Sport as a means of cultural diplomacy used in Indonesia. Indonesia has a bad image in the eyes of the international community. therefore, Indonesia utilizing sea games 2011 as a means to change the image and prestige of Indonesia to positive. By using explanative approach, the writer explain how the role of the sea games. The writer uses the theory of cultural diplomacy. countries began to use soft power means than hard power in its presence and spread its influence. exercise can be used as a means of cultural diplomacy to do a country. Cultural diplomacy is an alternative of a country in conducting diplomacy with other nations. Beside, culture of a country can demonstrate their identity while creating a positive image among other countries. Contribution of SEA Games was instrumental in improving the image of Indonesia.
