Abstract
This research aimed to improve learning process and students’ learning at
SDN 009 Pulau Kecamatan Bangkinang Seberang in mathematics lesson by
implementing Cooperative Learning Type Student Teams-Achievement Divisions
(STAD) academic year 2012/2013. Forms of research was collaborative classroom
action research. It was conducted in two cycles. Research procedures were carried out
in a class action including planning, implementating, observating and reflecting. The
success of the action was marked by improving the learning process and students’
learning achivement. Improvement of the learning process can be seen from the
reflection of observations result and increase of students’ learning achivement
marked by score of student’s individual progress and reaching minimum achievement
criteria (MMC). The result of research in the first cycle found that the percentage of
number of students who achieve MMC 15 students were 83,33% and number of
students 16 students were 88,88% in the second cycle.
From the results of this research concluded that Cooperative Learning Type
STAD can improve the students’ learning achievement at class V SD N 009 Pulau
Kecamatan Bangkinang Seberang.
