Abstract
The aim of these research is to know the cognitive skill and social skill development of
students in learning physic by applying copperative model with NHT approach and TSOS
to kinematic of rectilinear motion subject in SMA Negeri 12 Pekanbaru academic year
2009/2010. The subject of this research is class X4 and the total of the students are 36. The
research instruments are cognitive test and observation sheet of social skill. The data
collection techniques are test and observation. descriptive analysis of average student
learning outcomes 74.6% in both categories, inferential analysis results show that the
proposed research hypothesis can be accepted at the signficant level of confidence of 95%.
The data analyzed descriptively which included 5 indicators: doing task (91,67%) high
categories, support participation (75%) high categories, took the turn and share the task
(76,56%) high categories, listening actively (86,72%) high categories and asking question
(59,38%) medium categories. So that, the application of cooperative model with NHT
approach and TSOS could exercised the cognitive skill and social skilldevelopment of
stdents at SMA Negeri 12 Pekanbaru to kinematic of rectilinear motion
