Abstract
From the results of data analysis skills of reading aloud grade II D SDN 148 Pekanbaru,
showed an increase. Improvement from the first meeting to the second meeting of an
increase of 31.04% and a second meeting to the third meeting of 17.24% (20.68% -3.44%). And to increase the thoroughness of the third to the fourth meeting of the
meeting at 37.94% (58.62% - 20.68%), an increase in the thoroughness of the fourth
meeting of the fifth meeting to an increase of 41.38% (100% -58.62% ). The results in the
first cycle, the obstacles encountered when teachers understand the learning process less
direct instructional model making it difficult to apply. But in the second cycle, direct
instructional model can already be applied to the fullest. It is marked with the number of
students who completed the reading aloud. Conclusions from this research is that the
direct instructional model has been successfully applied optimally in reading aloud in
class II D SDN 148 Pekanbaru.
