dc.description.abstractThe aim of this research was to describe the patients functional status of stroke when entering inpatient room of Arifin Achmad hospital Pekanbaru. Research design used in this study was a simple description. There are 50 stroke patients who were taken by using purposive sampling technique. This research was conducted in Merak II inpatient room of Arifin Achmad hospital Pekanbaru. Data collection tool used the observation sheet of Barthel index which consist of 10 items of assessment related capability in self care activities and mobilization. The result of research was analyzed by univariate analysis and presented in frequency distribution table. The result of research showed 78.0% of stroke patient when entering had dependent total of functional status, 16,0% had moderate dependent and 6.0% had mild dependent. Based on these results, the researcher suggest to the health institution to provide nursing care and appropriate interventions adjusted with patient functional status when entering so that it was expected to assist the improvement of functional status in stroke patient when exit from inpatient room.en_US
