Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the relationship giving breast milk on the incidence of Acute Respiratory Infection. This study used cross-sectional design, the sampling technique used is purposive sampling with a sample of 77 people who influence the inclusion criteria. Measuring instrument used was a questionnaire. The analysis is used univariate and bivariate analyzes with Chi-square test. The results showed that administration of exclusive breast milk and BMS are linked to the incidence of Acute Respiratory Infection with a degree of significance ρ <α (0.05), predominantly breast milk / Partial not related to the incidence of Acute Respiratory Infection by results ρ> α (0.05). Based on these results it is expected that health workers to be more active in providing health information and education about the importance of exclusive breast milk to mothers with infants aged 0-12 months to reduce or prevent the incidence of Acute Respiratory Infection.
