Abstract
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of health education to increase family knowledge about dengue hemorrahagic fever. This research method uses quasi-experimental design with control group with the implementation of health education. The research was carried out in the West Village Labuh Baru against 30 respondents, is 15 experimental group and 15 control group. Measuring instrument used was a questionnaire with 14 questions about the dengue hemorrhagic fever, which was developed by researchers. The analysis is used univariate and bivariate analyzes with the Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney. The results showed a significant increase in the knowledge of dengue hemorrhagic fever in the experimental group after health education p value < α (0.000 <0.05). Based on the results of this study are expected to healthcare institutions can applicated individualized education methods to increase family knowledge about dengue hemorrhagic fever.
