| dc.description.abstract | Fertilization is a factor that to watch to increase the production of palm oil plantations on peatlands. Type of fertilizer that is needed is that containing N, P, K, Ca and Mg. In the implementation fertilization should attention to 5 components, including the type of fertilizer used, fertilizer dose used, application timing, application method, quality fertilizer. This study aims to investigate the fertilizing palm oil on peatland resident of BangkoPusakoDistrict RokanHilir Regency. The research was carried out for 3 months, from January to March 2013 in the village of BangkoKanan and BangkoKiri of BangkoPusako District RokanHilir Regency on peatlands. This study uses a descriptive survey. The data collected in this study is secondary data and primary data as well as using random sampling techniques. The indicator studied were the origin seeds,transplanting seedlings, spacing of planting, arrangement midrib, weed control, fertilization and drainage. The results showed resident's palm oil production is still very low, which is 50 % below the average standard of palm oil production on peatlands issued by PPKS Medan. The low production of oil palm farmers caused by the incompatibility sample some technical aspects of oil palm cultivation by farmers, especially aspects of planting materials, planting and maintenance of oil palm plantations, especially in the aspect of fertilizers and fertilizing palm on peatlands are recommended according to the SOP. | en_US |
