Abstract
Pyrazole is a five rings of heterocyclic compounds with three carbon atoms and two
nitrogen atoms in a position that adjacent each other and it has two endocyclic double
bonds. Pyrazole has a pharmacological effect on humans and this compound as an
important compound in the development of new drugs, one of which is an anticancer
drug. Hence, in this study, the synthesis of pyrazole 5-(4-bromofenil)-3-(naftalen-2-il)-
1-fenil-1H-pirazol (PZL-4Br) via oxidative aromatization reaction from pyrazoline 5-(4-
bromofenil)-3-(naftalen-2-il)-1-fenil-4,5-dihidro-1H-pirazol (PF-4Br-AN2) with glacial
acetic acid. Synthesis of the PZL-4Br compound was used the reflux at 80⁰C. The
purity of the compound was determined by using TLC, melting point and HPLC
analysis. The structure of the synthesized compound was confirmed by UV, FTIR
spectroscopic analysis. The toxicity of PZL-4Br compound was evaluated by Brine
Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method with shrimp larvae (Artemia salina Leach). PZL-
4Br compound successfully synthesized with 43,96% yield, LC50 = 3435,5 μg/mL
which indicates that the compound PZL-4Br is non-toxic.
