dc.description.abstractWe discussed some derivations of Simpson rule formulas that are not commonly discussed in numerical analysis texts. The derivation involved a Lagrange interpolating polynomial, and a quadratic polynomial analytically and a combination of trapezoidal rule and midpoint rule, and a combination trapezoidal rule analytically and numerically. All the derivations ended up with the same formula of Simpson rule.en_US
