dc.description.abstractPENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE TEAMS GAMES TOURNAMENTS (TGT) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS V SD NEGERI 114 PEKANBARU Oleh Velly Yuliana1, Gustimal Witri2, Damanhuri Daud3 Abstract In a teaching learning process, a teacher usually tends to explain materials, to give examples and to give evaluation to students. Then, the teacher checks the students’ tasks or exercises. So, it seems that the teacher has a role to transfer his/her knowledge and the students have a role to receive the knowledge, as a result, the students are passive in the teaching and learning process. Based on the facts above, a research has been done by applying the Cooperative Learning Model, the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type. The application of the Cooperative Learning Model, the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type, gives a new insight to the students because this type of learning contains an academic game, as a result, it can produce an interesting learning process because of its tournament. Furthermore, it can also train students to compete with each other very well because every student extremely tries to be the best team in his/her class. The objective of this research is to increase students’ achievement at the fifth grade students of 114 state elementary school Pekanbaru. The type of this research is a collaborative classroom action research, which consists of four steps of each cycle. They are plan, action, observation and reflection. This research consisted of two cycles. Based on the observation, the teacher’s activities in the cycle 1 was 76,85%, which was a good category. Then, it increased into 91,43%, which was a very good category, in the cycle 2 (the number of increasing was 14,58%). While the students’ activities in the cycle 1 was 72,92%, which was a good category, increased into 88,19%, which was a very good category (it increased about 15,27%). Based on the data analyses and research study, the mean score of the students learning achievement was increased. The students learning achievement increased from the mean score 66,85 into 79,85 in the first cycle (it increased 13 or 19,45%) and from the mean score 66,85 increased into 88,05 in the second cycle (it increased 21,2 or 31,71%). In the cycle I, the students classically standard score showed that there were 30 students of 41 students (73,17%) reached the standard score criteria. In the cycle 2, it increased into 38 students (92,68%). So, it can be concluded that Applying the Cooperative Learning Model the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type, can increase the Students Math Achievement at the Fifth Grade Students of 114 State Elementary School Pekanbaru.en_US
