Abstract
The study was conducted at PT. Pangan Sejahtera Niaga Pekanbaru is a
distributor of food and soft drinks in the city of Pekanbaru. The purpose of
research is to analyze the differences in the level of stress experienced by
employees working sales and the warehouse. The research sample census
conducted on 41 employees consisting of 25 employees in sales and 16 employees
at the warehouse. The variables are the object of study is a symptom of work
stress that has 20 indicators. Testing tools using independent t-test.
The research concludes that there is no significant difference in the level
of job stress among employees of the sales department to the warehouse.
Nonetheless, employee stress levels are relatively higher sales compared with the
level of work stress experienced by employees at the warehouse. Symptoms of
stress are at the high category were headache, loss of morale and low job
satisfaction. But overall, the level of stress experienced by employees working
sales and warehouse are both located in the low category.
The author recommends that in setting targets in sales and warehouse is
done by inviting the participation and input of employees and also considers
market conditions and competition going on, so employees do not feel the inability
to meet these targets. It is also recommended that companies apply methods of
managing merchandise inventory by integrating in a single system of recording
information in order to ensure the accuracy of the data. Issues entry access (and
out) of employees in the warehouse are also advised to be disciplined in order to
supply security merchandise can be more assured.
