Abstract
The problem in this research is the low of students science learning result of class V
SDN 99 Pekanbaru. This problem can be seen from the low score of science average
score which is 61,94 and the minimum score which is still low. From 33 students
there are only 16 students or 48,5% who can get the minimum score. Whereas 17
students or around 51,5% cannot get the minimum score. The minimum score which
have been decided by the school is 72. This research design is classroom action
research. The result of the data analysis shown on the first cycle there was
improvement from the average score, 61,94 increase 16,68% to 72,27. From the first
cycle to the second cycle there was increase around 9,64% to 79,24. On the third
cycle the improvement became 12,43% to 89,09. The whole improvement from the
first cycle to the third cycle was 38,75%. Beside those improvements of students
learning result, the intention of teacher and students activities also improved. The
intention of teacher activities on the first meeting was 67,50%, second 70%, third
77,50%, fourth 85%, fifth 90% and the last meeting was 97,50%. Whereas the
intention of students activities in the first meeting was 65,25%, second 67,50 %, third
77,50%, forth 82,50%, fifth 87,50%, and the last was 90%. From the explanation
above, can be concluded that the application of problem based learning model can
increase student’s science learning result of class V SDN 99 Pekanbaru
