dc.description.abstractThe research was conducted in December 2012 that took place in the village of Sei Serdang Nagalawan Perbaungan Bedagai District, North Sumatra. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with capture technology environmental friendliness on octopus trap gear and feasibility of octopus traps. In conducting this study used a survey method is to perform direct observations in the field and doing interviews and discussions with fishermen trap octopus. From the observation in accordance with the FAO (1995) indicates that the octopus trap fishing gear can classified into a very friendly environment. Gear octopus trap gear is gear using conch shells to catch octopus. The results of the feasibility analysis calculations on octopus trap fishing gear and benefits appropriate to proceed with a B / C> 1 that is equal to 1.8, the FRR (Financial Rate of Return) is 1.4%. and PPC (Payback Period of Capital) is 7 months.en_US
