Abstract

Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) is a plant commonly grown in tropical countries. One place that has shade is under oil palm plantations. the use of compound fertilizers is also very good to do. Compound fertilizer is a fertilizer that contains more than one element(N, P, and K). To reduce the cost of fertilizer, compound fertilizer is often used as an alternative as a single-use fertilizer. This research was conducted to determine the effect of NPK fertilizer to cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) planted among several stands of oil palm plantation. The design used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) non factorial consisting of one factor, namely NPK fertilizers, the treatment was repeated 4 times, so the total number of plants used are 20 cocoa crop. The dosage was as follows: N0 = 0 g / plant, N1 = 10 g / plant, N2 = 20 g / plant, N3 = 30 g / plant and N4 = 40 g / plant. Based on the study conducted we found that the NPK fertilizer applied on the seed plants in several doses gives a real influence on the parameters of plant's height and girth, but not significantly different from the parameters of the number of leaves, root dry weight and leaf area. NPK fertilizer at a dose of 30 g / plant showed better results compared to no fertilizer NPK, giving 10 g / NPK plant, giving 20 g / NPK fertilizer plant and the provision of 40 g / NPK plants.
