Abstract

Mathematics serves as a tool to solve problems of everyday life and as a knowledge base that supports the development of science and technology. One of the indicators that show the success of students in learning mathematics is the acquisition of learning outcomes that meet the size standards. Based on Curriculum 2006, the standard measure of success is the achievement of Minimum Achievement Criteria. Based on the results of studying math from students on class V SDN 13 Segati, mathematics learning outcomes have not been optimal. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the learning of mathematics through a study by implementing a type of cooperative learning Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD). The subjects were students of class V SDN 13 Segati, Langgam Sub District, District of Pelalawan, in the even semester of the academic year 2011/2012 totaling 30 people consisting of 20 male students and 10 female students. The shape research was designed in two cycles, where each cycle consists of 3 sessions and 1 times the daily tests. The results of the first cycle found that the percentage of students who achieve mastery minimum criteria was 70% and the second cycle was 100%, which increased the percentage of the previous measures only 56.66%. Based on the analysis of data measures the conclusion that the application type STAD cooperative learning to improve learning outcomes fifth grade math students of SDN 13 Segati .
