Pulp and paper production tailing solid waste such as reject pulp that is 2,28% amount of production total not yet maximally reuse. Based on chemical composition, reject pulp consist of α-cellulose (86,73%) hemicellulose (8,35%) lignin (3,17%), extractive (1,75%). One of α-cellulose advantage in reject pulp that are alpha-cellulose can be converted to be nitration process, as raw material for propelan production. Propelan raw material can be achieved if nitrogen content in nitrocellulose about ±13%. For achieving nitrogen content then α-cellulose purity have to be above 92%. In this research that is to increase α-cellulose purity can be done through reject pulp purities processing using xilanase enzyme. Variable items in this research are reaction time and pH in purity processing using xilanase enzyme. pH variation (3,4,5,6,and 7 )and reaction time (90,120,150,180, and 210 minutes) purity processing can be done in 50◦C room temperature, speed of stir 1,5 mot and xilanase enzyme is 0,375 gram. The best operating conditions obtained at pH 5 and a reaction time of 180 minutes with α-cellulose purity reaches 95.82%.en_US
