Abstract
This research was conducted on 30 June to 9 July 2012 in Sei Nagalawan
village Perbaungan Serdang Bedagai Subdistrict North Sumatra Province. The
purpose of this research was to investigate construction and design of traps fishing
gear used by fisherman in Sei Nagalawan village. Information about this tool is
needed for collection data and the development of fishing gear used and so we
need complete data. The method used was survey method.
The results showed trap fishing gear using the conch shell 300 pieces
assembled as longline fishing to catch octopus cyanea. Rawai keong fishing gear
consisting of main line, buoy , buoy line, flag , conch shells and anchors.
