Abstract
Parameters that indicate that a source of water is polluted, one of which is coliform
bacteria. Coloform bacteria are a group of bacteria that live in the digestive tract.
spring water in sikumbang hill village of sarak island, kampar sub-district is used by
people in the village for drinking water sources. springs emerge from natural soil. This
study aims to determine the bacteriological quality of drinking water from the spring
waters of the sikumbang hill village of Sarak Island. This research method is the MPN
(most probable number) method, the sample is taken from eleven drinking water
managers sourced from the sikumbang hill springs by tap water in a distribution
basin. the results showed that 90% of samples were contaminated by coliforms, so
they did not meet the health standards set by the Republic of Indonesia's Ministry of
Health in "Permenkes" no: 492 / menkes / per / IV / 2010 ie in this case stating that
the spring source of the hill village sikumbang village sarak island is not suitable for
consumption directly by the community but must be cooked before consuming it.
