Abstract
Pekanbaru City is the Capital of Riau Province which is a city of trade and services,
including a city with a high population growth rate. The high rate of population and
vehicle growth in the city of Pekanbaru can have a negative impact on the lives of urban
communities and the environment. It will be serious attention to formulate development
policies for the next 10 years. In this study, the method of analysis used to project the
growth of vehicles and residents of Pekanbaru is the linear regression method. In
conclusion, the vehicle growth rate is higher when compared to the population growth
rate in the city of Pekanbaru.
