Pendugaan Kandungan Karbon Di Atas Permukaan Tanah Pada Kawasan Arboretum Universitas Riau
(2016-02-10) Pratamasari, Ricky; Sribudiani, Evi; Sulaeman, Rudianda
Forests be able to absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) and convert it into carbohydrates in the form of carbon and saved it in biomass components of forest. Arboretum area is one of forest area, which is around the Riau University, has the potential of biomass carbon saved in the constituent components. This research aimed to obtain information about the value of the carbons potential in the above ground at arboretum area of Riau University. The carbons potential at the area is one of the benefits of ecosystem services that have economic value, so its existence worthy of attention. Techniques of data collection was done by using the method purposive sampling or transect lines. Above ground biomass estimation was done by summing the biomass of litter, seedlings, undergrowth, saplings, poles and trees. Biomass of saplings, poles and trees was estimated by employing Ketterings et al., (2001). Biomass of litter, seedlings and undergrowth was estimated by employing Indonesian National Standard (SNI 7724: 2011). Value of carbon saved is 0,47 of the biomass. The research results showed that the carbon potential at arboretum area of Riau University is 58,45 ton/ha.

Woodworking aims to convert the solid wood or wood products wooden panels into useful, valuable and high aesthetic through a series of processes. Shorea leprosula Miq. and Dyera polyphylla Miq. wood is a popular wood in the wood trade and also the production of furniture, but it is not known defect-free value and quality classification of the wood. research needs to be done about the trait of the wood working to determine the defect-free value contained in the wood processing using the techniques of woodworking and properties determined using woodworking class assessment tables. Research method based on ASTM (American Standard Testing and Materials) D-1666-87 (1999), with materials and equipment available. Shorea leprosula Miq. and Dyera polyphylla Miq. wood has a excellent grade in the class woodworking, either defective fiber fluffy, fiber fractures, scratches, scars tear that is classified in 1st class with the average value of damage is not more than 20% of the specimen defects

Analisa Harga Jual Kayu Akasia Berdasarkan Pendekatan Biaya Produksi Pembangunan Hutan Tanaman Industri
(2014-02-25) Refdanil, Nurcan; Evi, Sribudiani; Sudarmalik
The low of price Acacia log is caused by coorperative operation between plantation forest with forest product industry in implementation on Permenhut P.29/2012. The aims of the study were to know: determinant factors and cost production of Acacia mangium and Acacia crassicarpa plantation forest, the price of A. mangium and A. crassicarpa log based by cost production, and the financial analysis of plantation forest used the price log based on production cost of plantation forest and actual price of log Acacia. Reasearch is conducted in Arara Abadi Company in Distric of Rasau Kuning and Pusaka. Data analysis is used production cost of plantation forest at 3th and 4th rotation are land clearing, seedling, planting, weeding, harvesting, tansporting and potential stands. This data used to find the price of Acacia log in industry. The actual price of Acacia in market was got from interview. Data analysis used the financial analysis by parameters Net Present Value, Benefit Cost Ratio, and Internal Rate of Return. The assumtion of study used interest rate (15%) and plantation forest bussines (5 years). The result of study showed that the determinant factors are purchasement of seed, land potential, salary of planting, salary of over cultivate take, salary of wood cut and cost carry to pile place of log and salary of cultivate KCa. The production cost and the log price of A. crassicarpa plantation forest is higher than A. mangium. The plantation forest is financially feasible but happenned to decrease to the next rotation.

Pemberian Mikoriza Untuk Memacu Pertumbuhan Saemai Meranti Tembaga ( Shorea leprosula) Pada Medium Gambut
    (2014-02-06) Mardiantino; M. Mardhiansyah; Rosmimi
Shorea leprosula is a major timber producing trees in Indonesia and one of an essential commodity. To get high quality of Shorea leprosula must be developed by cultivation techniques in order to obtain the quality plant’s growth of Shorea leprosula. The development of biotechnology in forestry provides an opportunity to use environmentally friendly technology through the application of mycorrhizal. This study aimed to determine the influence of mycorrhizal application on seedlings quality and determine the best dosage to increase growth of seedling’s Shorea leprosula in peat medium. The research used completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 10 replications. The treatments consisted of : (M0) without application of mycorrhizal, (M1) application of mycorrhizal with the dosage 10 gr/polybag, (M2) application of mycorrhizal with the dosage 20 gr/polybag, (M3) application of mycorrhizal with the dosage 30 gr/polybag and (M4) application of mycorrhizal with the dosage 40 gr/polybag. Mycorrhizal application can increase the quality of seedlings Shorea leprosula in peat medium. The best dosage indicated on application of mycorrhizal in the dosage 20 gr/polybag (M2) with survival persentage (100%), height growth (3,36 cm), diameter growth (0,17 cm), dry weight crop (2,19 gr), root dry weight (0,63 gr) and top-root ratio (2,28).

Pola Penggunaan Ruang Oleh Harimau Sumatera (Panthera tigris sumatrae) Pada Berbagai Umur Kelapa Sawit dan Akasia di Sekitar Taman Nasional Tesso Nilo Kecamatan Ukui Kabupaten Pelalawan Provinsi Riau
(2014-01-28) Pratama, Boy; Yoza, Defri; Sulaeman,Rudianda
Sumatra tiger(Panthera tigrissumatrae) in recent time isone of thewildlife which one the existence israrely to find. Since 1996, sumatra tiger was claimed as endangered. It is caused by habitatdestruction, poachingandlackof feed. There were so many factors which is cause the population decline, one of them is conflict between tiger and human. The cause of the conflict is tiger’s reduction area where it force them to find other area. One of the areas is human’s land that was forest which had been transformed into residential and industry plantation(HTI). At the palm and timber plantations around National Park,Tesso Nilo (TNNP) there is a tendency of tiger existence which is so close with human activities. This research aims to identify the use of space by the tiger and its prey in various kinds of ages and palm oil plantations and also analyze the correlation between the characteristics of oil palm and timber to the existence of tigers and their prey around TNNP. The technique of Collecting data is taking by looking at the secondary mark which is left by the tiger and its prey. The Data were analyzed by usingmorisita analysis. The results showed that Sumatra tigers are more likely to use the area that has a lot of prey species and try to avoid the areas where it has high level of human activity.
