Abstract

This study aims to improve science learning outcomes of students through guided inquiry learning model in Class V students of SDN 58 Pekanbaru Academic Year 2012/2013. This study was conducted in March to April 2013. With the number of students 30 people, 14 male and 16 female students. This study design is Classroom Action Research (CAR). Parameters are measured, student learning outcomes, student activities, and teacher activities. While the research instrument used was a sheet items and observation of student activity sheets and teachers' activities. The observation of the first cycle of the first meeting of teachers demonstrate sufficient activity (55%), the second meeting (65%) categories of good and excellent pemuan third (85%). For the second cycle teachers increased activity observed with the category very well at all (85%) and in accordance with the plan, for the student activity also increased with the excellent category (95%). The percentage of students in carrying out learning activities in the first cycle 1 meeting is enough and 50% category 2 meeting to the 60% category enough, and 85% met three categories very well. While in the second cycle 1 was 85% meeting both categories once and meetings to 2 second cycle 95% excellent category. Based on the analysis of data from the study, the average elementary student scores before the application of guided inquiry learning model is 59.83 then increased to 72.17 in the first cycle and increased again to 80.17 in the second cycle. It can be concluded that the application of guided inquiry learning model to improve learning outcomes IPA Class V of SDN 58 Pekanbaru
