Bina Widya Km 12,5 Pekanbaru Email : rizanti-winda@yahoo.com / 085376886659 ABSTRAK Sub Edge since 2003 has had its own government, felt the need to try to fix and carry out development to enhance human resources who have knowledge in order to implement national development in general and construction in particular baseboards. To realize this, of course, did not escape from the effort to improve the quality of education. Regional autonomy apparently played a role or influence on the development of education in the District of Uptown. This influence is seen in the number of schools, number of students, number of teachers and level of education, and infrastructure. The purpose of this study was to determine the Development of Education in District Uptown Bengkalis Year 2003-2011. The research was conducted by Historical research methods, descriptive qualitative tabulation of frequency include the data presented in the form of graphs and bar charts. The data collected by interview, documentation and literature. The results show that education in the District of Uptown Post-Expansion (2003-2011) has been progressing. In 2003 there are 59 schools and in 2011 grew to 115 schools, the number of students at each level of education also increased. Where in the beginning of the division in 2003 amounted to 18,554 people, and continued to increase until the year 2011 reached 22 984 person, the number of teachers in the early years of expansion which in 2003 amounted to 950 people and continues to rise until the year 2011 reached 1458 people. The education level of teachers is also increasing, but there are also teachers who teach high school graduates, the number of facilities and infrastructure from 2003 to 2011 also increased, but is still very limited and need to be added. So in general it can be said that the development of education in the District of Uptown has not been up there and change that still needs further efforts to increase so much better in the following years. en_US
