Item EFEK VARIASI KALIUM HIDROKSIDA PADA PENGAKTIFAN ARANG TEMPURUNG KELAPA TERHADAP KELEMBABAN(2016-01-30) Oktaviani, Tutik; Taer, Erman; Farma, RakhmawatiThe Carbon active made from piece coconut shell has been identified by using the chemical activation. This study aims to determine the value of the concentration of Potassium Hydroxide 1M, 2M, and 3M by activating coconut shell charcoal powder as humidity control. The Coconut shell Carbon is from the area Payakumbuh (Sumatera Barat) obtained from the local markets. Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) concentration used was 1, 2 and 3 M as chemical activation solution to activate the Carbon functional groups. The methods are Scanning Electron Microscope, Dispersive X-ray and X-ray Diffraction to investigate the morphology of the structure, content and degree of crystalline elements. For 2 hours, is found that the value of humidity is 84%, 81%, and 84%, in the range of 0-60 minutes, concentration 1 M, 2 M, and 3 M KOH respectively. It showed that there is feedback interaction with humidity value of 85%, 84% and 83%.Item KARBON AKTIF BERBASIS LIMBAH IJUK AREN (ARENGA PINNATA) DAN APLIKASINYA SEBAGAI ELEKTRODA SEL SUPERKAPASITOR(perpustakaan UR, 2021-07) Pakpahan, Metha Melyanty; Awitdrus, AwitdrusThe activated carbon electrode of a supercapacitor cell based on palm fiber has been successfully fabricated. This research aims to determine the effect of carbonization temperature on the density and specific capacitance values of activated carbon supercapacitor cells made from palm fiber. The process of preparation of supercapacitor electrode cells started with pre-carbonization using an electric oven at temperature of 100-250 oC. The chemical activation was performed using a 0.3M ZnCl2 activator. The carbonization process was carried out using N2 gas environment with temperature variations of 500 oC, 550 oC and 600 oC. The physical activation was done using CO2 gas at a temperature of 700 oC. The density of the carbon electrode decreases by 7.92% at 500 oC, 9.43% at 550 oC and 10.09% at 600 oC after carbonization-physical activation process. The sample with a temperature of 600 oC results the highest specific capacitance as high as 101 F/g.Item PEMBUATAN KARBON AKTIF DARI KULIT JERUK (CITRUS SINENSIS (L) OSBECK) DENGAN AKTIVASI KOH BERBANTUAN GELOMBANG MIKRO(2020-05) Siregar, Gladys May Grace; AwitdrusOrange peel based activated carbon by microwave assisted potassium hydroxide chemical activation has succesfully been made. Pre-carbonized of activated carbon was conducted for 1 hour at temperature of 150˚C and followed by chemical activation using KOH with variation of molarity of 2 M, 3 M, and 4 M. The microwave pyrolisis was carried out using output power of 630 Watt for 15 minutes. The molarity of KOH was influenced by of the physical properties of activated carbon. Higher of output of activator concentration shows bigger of carbon content produced. The data of energi dispersive X-ray show the activated carbon of KJ4M has the highest of carbon content of 66,55%Item PENGARUH VARIASI SUHU AKTIVASI FISIKA TERHADAP PEMBUATAN ELEKTRODA KARBON DARI LIMBAH BIJI ALPUKAT(2020-10) Anakis, Ramadhani PutriThe carbon electrode from avocado seed biomass material has been successfully made. The manufacture of carbon electrodes begins with sample preparation, precarbonization processes, crushing using a mortar and ball milling, sieving carbon powder with a size of 53 μm. The pre-carbonized powder is chemically activated using a KOH 0.1 M activator and continued by pellet forming by using Hydraulic Press. The carbonization process is carried out at a temperature of 600˚C using N2 gas and physical activation with temperature variations, namely 700˚C, 800˚C and 900˚C using CO2 gas. The Shrinkage of carbon mass was 24,07% and resulted in carbon powder. The shrinkage density values of each carbon electrode for physical activation temperatures of 700˚C, 800˚C, and 900˚C were 25,52%, 27,56%, and 37,42%.The highest density shrinkage value occurred at a temperature of 900 at 31.76%.Item STUDI AWAL PENGAKTIFAN KARBON MENGGUNAKAN RADIASI GELOMBANG MIKRO SEBAGAI BAHAN PENYERAP DARI KAYU EUCALYPTUS(2016-01-30) Fitriani; Awitdrus; Farma, RakhmawatiActivated Carbon (AC) has been successfully made from Eucalyptus wood by using conventional carbonization and chemical activation supported by microwave radiation. The weight ratio of carbon:potassium hydroxide is 1:0.5 and the power of microwave at 720 Watt with variation of irradiation time is of 10, 20, 30 and 40 minutes respectively. The microwave-induced potassium hydroxide activation affects the physical properties of AC. The yield of AC showed decreased with increasing time of irradiation. The microwave irradiation of 20 minutes resulted the higher iodine number. The pattern of X-ray diffraction showed that the AC has a turbostratic structure by the presence of diffraction peaks of (002) and (001). The BET surface area of AC for the irrradiation of 20 minutes and 40 minutes are 196.42 and 2.40 respectively.
