Arza Aibonotika3 Email: handayantid@ymail.com, No. HP: 082173859091 ABSTRACT The research is about the form of metonymy proverb based on the shape and close relation, in Japanese song lyrics by Gackt. The purpose of this research is to provide knowledge for Japanese language learners in particular on the use of metonymy figure of speech contained in the song for the Japanese and Japanese language learners increase vocabulary especially for the students education of Riau University. The research uses descriptive method. The data is taken from Japanese lyrics by Gackt. The results of this research explains that the there are 4 kinds of metonymy proverb based on shape and close relation.
